I know that Road & Track Magazine speculates that a 2014 Lexus IS 4 door will be based off the FR-S platform. (Old news)

Umm...that Lexus won't do it for me. I won't spend a dime on it. I want the FT-86 door, most likely it will be a Scion FR-S 4-door, but you might be right, they might make the 4-door a Lexus like the one shown above. I'd have ta test drive, who knows, but I don't like the body on that Lexus above enough.

I think the platform is too small, compared with G's, 3, and C's of today

I think they can do it. When you at the Coupe it does look too small. It would be a small opening for a door. It may go on the Lexus platform, the FT-86 4-door. And if it did I'd probably take a long look at it. Maybe not even a test drive, though.

Only if it were turbo. Then it would be a Toyota rwd WRX.

Exactly, this car is not nearly long enough to add another door. Unless they pull a RX-8 move, it will not ever be a 4 door.

If you want a 4 door subie powered car, buy a wrx. If you want rwd, modify the transmission! This car might make that do-able for all Subaru's.

Yes, but a Lexus? Fuh-get-a-bou-dit. I can't see myself in a Lexus of any flavor. Let's just wait and see on the 4-dr. variant FT-86. You guys are probably right, it'll plop over a Lexus chassis that has room for it, and a FT-86 body may never be seen in 4-dr. form on any Toyota/Subaru car at all.

After all, this car is designed to be a Coupe.

ej25ti-I might be, I'll have to see. It could be just what I'm looking for. I'm checkin' out all sorts of cars, my futures car list is big and large and growing right now.
I'll just pick one to trade in for, though. One rig at a time for this padre!

Corrected. All IS300's are 2j's, just non-turbo. Every lexus uses the number in the name to describe engine size. 3.0 is the size of a 2jzge and 2jzgte, but they never put the turbo in it. Should have. I wish they would have had an Altezza here in the states and maybe even come out with a turbo model of it!

    im confused
the IS300's only came with the GE, but some people swap GTE's in them (not as easy as youd think). Why would u want an Altezza in the states?

Cal-you lazy? Are you in Denver still? If you are, is everyone sick of the Nou-gats...umm...I mean Nuggets? Or are they still respected and somewhat loved there in the Rockies? Not ta stray off FR-S too much, but.

Cuz the beams was the ish. The weight distribution was much better and had nearly the same power. You can easily use 3sgte parts on a 3sge, meaning a 3sgte powered IS would be easy. The non-turbo 2jz was weak, but modding a beams to be a 3sgte powered car is much cheaper than going 2jzgte AND made the car lighter. This is why the JGTC IS (aka altezza's) were 3s powered along with the supra's of the early 2000's.

Genki> I guess there are a few models that don't fit the bill. They are rare and don't follow the nomenclature. Should have been the IS500 anyhow, the LFA is another story.

Cal>Denver isn't much to look at really. Going up the mountains near Denver is another story, especially in the right car.
