2012 Genisis Coupe. Plan B Maybe?

With a little redesign this thing is a bit busy in the front end but still ok to live with. And with engine upgrade for next year, the 2.0t is sure to put out more than 210hp givin the simple fact the volester 1.6 turbo will put out 208. So maybe 240ish is good. Check the link. what you guys think.

I'm with you. Too big and odd shape, for my tastes. They look ok now, but it's not my flavor.

My friend. Please understand. Plan B is when a woman got drunk and had an unprotected sex. Next morning, "Oh SH*T". Then she goes to drug store and get her Plan B. I personally believe Hyundai are Plan F for fail. or "F*CKed"

I will say that hyundai has come up from what they used to be. The engine in the genesis should be solid being a 4b11. Dunno about the rest, but their reliability ratings are much better than before. Still, the car isn't light enough, powerful enough or has the "oh damn that's sexy" look.

Maybe the equally fugly Kia RWD.

Kia RWD concept's name revealed in newly leaked images

There is no plan B for me. FR-S or BRZ or noone gets my cash.

The Kia is even uglier than the new Genesis. Hyundai was doing so well with styling. This is a major step backward.

I think the kia is a mix of the New camero, the challenger and an Aston Martin, which could never be good. An Aston is on of the best looking cars on the planet, but mixing it with a muscle car looks worse than a hairless cat.

The Kia is just a concept, I highly doubt their next production model will look anything like that lol

Will the 2.0T gensis coupe rspec be faster than the 2.0L ft-86 NA?

That is an insult to hairless cats.

I can barely believe that is the genesis. The current one has such a sleek and attractive line but that front end is entirely to blunt.

Depends on the specs of the FRS. A 260HP NA FRS would probably be faster in a straight line. Around the track I think that the FRS would be faster period as it would be better suited to the track.

^ I really think any more than 220hp is just wishful thinking.

210 HP with 11.0:1 compression ratio is do able. Anything higher than that, you are talking about either blowing up the the engine or you just can't suck enough air into combustion chamber for a good bang...

If you look at the Lexus's with the d4-s, they are rocking 11.5:1 or higher!

I believe that 220+ (up to maybe 250 hp), but the lowend torque would suffer. 250 hp and 160 tq is possible, IMO, but would Toyota/Subaru make a base car be so high performance? I don't think so. They both typically stay pretty conservative with engine builds. Think s2000 with added dual injection (direct +4-5 hp and then port adding the same).

I'm not sure I'm following you. I wouldn't call the F20c conservative since it was an expensive, hand-built engine (very fine tolerances). Obviously we won't get that at this price point.

The way I typed it, it seems to be contradictory. I'm saying that 250 hp out of the FA engine is possible through the dual injection, but that Subaru, and especially Toyota, don't build cars with that high of performance stock. They typically overbuild them and it would be very difficult to overbuild a 250 hp NA 4 cylinder. It would have to be about maxed out stock. If it had ITB's (and toyota has done this), VVTL-I and dual injection on it, it might even make 260 hp at 11:5+ compression @ 8000 rpm with the right cams and intake manifold. Just don't expect much lowend torque. If you look at the WRX, there's lots of features for a car at 25k. The STi brz could go higher, but I'm hoping they replace all the gizmo's and gadgetry with a turbo. Complicated cars don't mod well, nor have as much reliability.
