Here's my 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS in Rally Red. I dig your car's silver get-up, too. This is a car just like our Lancer GTS.
An actual photo of our car is in the thumbnail parked in it's stall outside our Willcox, AZ, home in 2008. Note our neighbor's white Lexus sedan parked outside their home next door to ours.

'97 Acura Integra DC4 w/ heavy suspension mods, light i/h/e and drivetrain mods. Give me a canyon road and I'm smiling all day. 100k by me and loving it (172k on the clock). It is a superb drivers car, reliable and easy to fix.

was your evo tuned by ams? or do you just have their intercooler?
Fantastic once you throw on some good shocks and springs and stiffen up the rear end more! I've done a couple dozen, some up to 60 mph and this thing just takes it all in stride. If you want some advice on what to buy, lmk.
Nice Evo too, never really driven one myself but they sure do look good.
Well, here's my lightly modded DD, 04 Java Black Metallic STi
and the current project, my ninth 240sx, swapping in an S14 SR20DET, with a host of mods, and fresh Toyota 1D2 paint. I swear this car is trying to kill me before I finish it.

nice gts! is it a 5 speed?
toyofan, no it's a CVT automatic with paddle shifters. They are actually more fun than I thought they'd be-Mitsu did well by them. They did it right. Really suprised by how precise they will work for you-I use them to slow the car down when coming up to a stop, and I also use them for short hill bursts. They cause "torque-tightening" and a tad worse fuel mileage when they're on at say freeway speeds-so I just use them for these other applications.

I'm not doing an RB20DET, I'm doing an SR20DET. RB20= 2 more cylinders that much further in front of the front axle, heavy iron block, PITA wiring, and a whole host of other things that make them a poor choice for a car that you want to handle well. 2J is an easier and less expensive swap than a RB26, mostly due to transmissions.
The engine is prepped and ready to go into the car, it's an S14 SR20DET w/ VCT, tubular exhaust manifold, braided water and oil lines for the turbo, full turbo back exhaust, replaced intake piping with a larger, smoother flowing piece, fmic, HKS SSQV III, fresh plugs, Nismo thermostat, new water pump, nismo clutch fork pivot, XACT flywheel, Spec clutch, new rear main seal, Aluminum radiator, dual electric fans, VLSD from the donor car, JDM aero kouki front end swap, carbon fiber hood (painted, exposed CF is gaudy), Z32 brakes all around with the r33 e-brake cables so that the Z32 e-brake functions, gauges, turbo timer, blah, blah blah. Pretty standard s14 build for now. Ordering suspension in a few weeks, and still looking at wheel options. The goal for this car is clean and simple, only looking for 250-300rwhp. The older I get, the less I care about going fast in a straight line and the more I enjoy twisty roads.
wow, thats a pretty awesome build. are you getting a good deal on the parts? some of those seem pretty costly. You are right about the twisty roads thing, power isnt everything. A "fast" car may be fast in a straight line but if taken to the track or auto x, it would just be horrible. I chose the 4cyl turbo because of that reason. Not only is the car fast in a straight line, it is just absolutely amazing on the track! Racing isnt just about acceleration, its also about car control/grip/responsiveness. My 1995 miata runs just as fast at auto cross as many other cars with over twice its hp. (i have an auto x miata with some basic mods making about 145hp)
From what i saw, an rb26 is pretty expensive which is why i decided not to get the car. Those turbo 240s are extremely quick. I never really thought about doing a 2j swap but i guess that would be viable. The 2j is an amazing engine! check out this vid of a 2j in a car that you would not normally expect! (the owner also has a 1000+ hp 2j in a supra MKIV) Good luck with your build! When will you be done?

toyofan-I get about 31mpg in Nevada and Arizona on the freeway when we were living there, but over here in the Idaho panhandle the roads are so mountainous that I'm getting about 26mpg. Really makes a difference when you add the mountain passes to it. Coeur d' Alene is about 31 miles west of us here in Kellogg, ID.
mrVito and i have the same car :P

I dig the hood dams on there. Very cool.
^you might want to hang on to that evo. that x will be a collector car eventually. seeing how the evo won't be the same, according to mitsu.

Since that article came out on Mitsu shelving the EVO they have since stated that perhaps they will build a hybrid EVO and really there's just as much chance that they'll build the Lancer GTS Hybrid, it is one of the 5 "green" cars Mitsubishi told us around 2008 they'll be working on building for MY 2013.
Personally I never really believed Mitsubishi was going to shelve the EVO or even Ralliart or certainly not any of the Lancer variations they currently build and have built for a long time. It is along with their Outlander and now the very cool Outlander Sport that I am getting a hankering for their sales bread and butter. They'd better be coming out with something really monstrously big, large and good if they actually scrap the EVO, Ralliart and Lancer series.
1997 Ford Probe GTS, 2.5l V6 5-spd, with still under 100k on the clock. Suspension mods and catback exhaust. Keeping it relatively stock. Used as a DD and occasionally putting it on an autox course.
I'm not in GS class, btw. Currently novice, but my mods actually put me out of the stock class.

It's a nice DD and it sounds great. I'm going to put it up for sale in a week or two and buy my fiance's 02 elantra with cash. I got into the civic on a shitty deal, so my monthly payments are too much. I can completely afford it, I just don't want to. For the money I pay on this car, I can have something a lot quicker. I'm going to focus on student loans and saving cash with the extra money per month for a year, and then buy something fun to drive. Probably the FR-S or 2013 Focus ST. If all else fails, I'll buy my dream car, which is a 07 STI.

Nice HFP Si, I came this close to buying an 07 Si, but got a Mazdaspeed6 instead. I did still end up owning an 06 Civic EX-L coupe for a DD as well. They do make great get around cars, awesome on gas, and nicely loaded. My friend has an 07 WRX TR Stg 2, another great choice. I was interested in the 2012-13 Focus ST coming out also.
Thanks. It's going to be hard to let the car go. I don't blame you for getting the speed6 over the Si.
Just sold my evo x and bought an 2010 si to hold me til this comes out.
