    The Wonderful Commonwealth of VirGINA

    I can't believe I almost forgot!!!
So... on my lovely *cough* drive from FL back up north I happened to be pulled over in the wonderful state of VA. Now I'm not sure if you know, but VA has the best laws EVER!
Apparently... anything over 80 mph is RECKLESS DRIVING! WOOHOO
also radar scanners are illegal... which I knew.

So hanyway, I was pulled over for 81 in a 70! I know right!
And nowww, I have reckless driving! ... for 11mph over -__-
Not only that, I was going with traffic! And I had my mom in the car.
I told the officer that there were people passing me and that it was a lil ridiculous and asked if he could do anything to make it 1mph less so that I would have to come ALL THE WAY BACK to VA in July for my court date
cuz I totally have time to do that living in MA and all
but noooo, Officer Douche Bag told me he didnt care, and after I asked him why he picked me out of the other cars all going 80, he said "well look at your car" :O
on top of this he gave me another ticket for my radar, which I knew was illegal, but I was so appalled he pulled me over i forgot to put it away -__-

    really????
so now Ive been calling traffic attorneys all day getting quotes, so MUCH FUN!

    end rant

does anyone have any info that might help???
    lol

I know it sucks and I feel for you, but you have to look at the facts. The law is clearly stated and you were clearly breaking it. You can't focus on the annoying variables and the attitude of the cop.

Now just take measures and try to fix it. Good luck, man.

Reckless driving for 81 mph over is a bit ignorant of a law if they have speed limits of 70 mph.

I got a ticket for 104 mph, paid a lawyer and then just paid my ticket. No other tickets were given and I didn't have to go to any classes or anything. I do have an "E" class license, but I don't see how that would change anything. The lawyer said they would not fix the ticket, so my insurance went up. I could have had it alot worse. 104 mph in a 60!

In GA you would have been arrested and license suspended for a year. Plus here anything over 15 and you are a "Super Speeder" which allows them to tack on fees pretty much anywhere they want, starting with the automatic extra $200 charge.

Now there's your answer! Yikes, man, I feel for ya. Is the car shown on your avatar the one you drive and were driving that day? I mean, thanks Mr.Nice Policeeeman, for pulling me over and really killing my non-alcoholic really talking about driving buzz for a long time. Sheesh. That cop is a real dork IMO.

Might work. Hopefully, they don't want you to go to classes. You'd have to come back or pay for a hotel! Good luck!

I'm glad I live in MO. Our laws seem to be lax compared to many other states. IL is very tough on speeders too.
