Subi because of emp discount.
I'm a Subaru lover, but considering both cars are "the same", I'll choose on design, and I prefer the Toyota front. The big mouth of the BRZ remember me the Peugeot mouth, and I don't really like that. But I think it will be different when they will show us a production STI version (if ever it'll be sold in Europe). And i still hope it will be turbocharged. Wait and see =)
Now on the color, I really love the Subaru blue. It's a so difficult choice ^^
But I still dunno if I'm gonna buy a GT 86/BRZ or a WRX STI. I'll get a new car for my 25th birthday in may 2012, so I'm gonna test both cars. And if I choose the WRX STI, I won't have to choose between GT 86 and BRZ eheh. I can't wait to test them both !![]()
I'm going with Subie. Go check out the Scion's release pics.
They cut all the interior options that were in the GT86.
Unbelievable...
I want the Subaru BRZ, but Ill take all three
My wallet will likely get me the Scion FR-S
hachi roku or a blue 'ru?
I'm a Subaru fan, so that's an easy call. I don't even know where my local Toyota dealer is.
Still, given the way it looks, it might have to be black. Or dark grey. I don't think the white works at all (although it would be colour of choice on the GT-86 - as it will be known over here).
And I'm not too happy about the stance, the wheel gap and the track. It looks like it needs a 30-40mm drop and at least as much in the track for the 17's to fill out the arches. While I'm at it, what happened to the brakes? Single piston calipers? The aftermarket is going to make a killing in BBKs and bigger fart cans.
Price will be the deciding factor for me, as the two models seem very similar... Also, I'm eager to see the option groups, sometimes you want a particular option and you need to buy an expensive option group to get it. But I think Scion doesn't have option groups? (I dunno, Scion is still quite new here)
Yeah, Scion doesn't do "packages" or multiple additions in one wave. You buy each thing separate, but then pay for them to be installed. So cheaper to get single options, but more expensive to get the full deal.
I'm just glad it got an LSD stock. Now all it needs is a boosted edition.....
I agree that price will probably be the deciding factor for me. If I can get a turbo, I'm going to get that, but on the fence if not. I want something I can play with, that isn't going to cost a fortune to mod.
I really like the 86's emblems. That'll be the first mod!![]()
91 hardtop mr2 turbo
I chose the GT 86 cause im thinking about 2 years down the line, what engine to swap.. hmmm lol![]()
SUBBRZ
for10
Toyota if it were sold in the U.S. Subaru, since we get stuck with the Scion.
2013 Subaru BRZ Limited 6MT - on order
2012 Audi S4 6MT - company lease, baby!
1987 Toyota MR2 - 20v blacktop screamer
1973 Datsun 240Z - highway monster project
Its a hard decision for us in the US. The looks of the scion front end are better IMO then the Subaru, but the Subaru has all the premium embellishments, including fancy DRLs. I also really like the silver "brushed aluminum" dash in the subaru as opposed to the carbon in the scion. I still choose the Scion, but not sure if I'm going to purchase it unless scion has dealer installed options like auto climate and push button start. I'm still pretty bummed that scion doesn't seem to be giving the US access to the premium items offered elsewhere. We'll see, it will be determined based on how Scion handles these things, or if they are made available for purchase through Subaru(to add to the Scion).
damn, 16 -16

As a Canadian i think i'll only have the Scion option
but i would go with Toyota if it comes out, just because my 01 RS is giving me more headaches than i ever thought possible.
and yes, i know they are the same car, hahaha
My current preference is Subaru, but that can be easily swayed by the final prices. I visited a Subaru dealer and a Scion dealer to ask about the cars. Both were very professional and nice, but the Subaru one seemed calmer and more laid back. Another reason I am leaning toward Subaru.
I wish I could afford the BRZ but looks like I'm stuck with the FR-S. (oh darn)
I think they are both great looking so that's a none issue.
I think history will remember the BRZ more kindly plus it looks like they did most of the heavy lifting.
