2010 subaru impreza 2.5i premium vs. 2009 toyota camry LE v6

    hey everyone
so i'm currently in the market for a new (to me) car and will be upgrading from my horrible 2004 chevy aveo hatchback... anywho i've sort of narrowed it down to two cars that i've found in my area for around the same price (15,500) with about 25,000 miles

the things that are most important to me are
    - Reliability - its going to be awhile before i want to even THINK about buying a new car or having to make any sort of major repairs.
    - Performance in the snow - i live in chicago currently and roughly 1-2x a month will be making trips to southwest michigan... anyone from this area who has made that drive in the winter know the gauntlet i am talking about. I'm assuming the subaru will be superior due to the awd but i'm mostly wondering will the difference be ridiculous?
    - Enjoyable drive - i'm 23 years old and id still like to be able to have some fun driving if possible

now if anyone has any other suggestions on cars that would be good to check out other than these two (keeping in mind im trying to spend 16,000 or so) id be happy to hear them

also both cars are certified used from dealers so i believe this means the camry has a 100,000 mile warranty and the subaru has something like a 60,000 or something like that if anyone knows about these warranties or has had experience with them id be really happy to hear feedback on that too

I own a beige 2007 Camry LE I4, i recommend Camry's if your worried about reliability. But i personally do not have very much fun while driving the car. Im sure the V6 will be more stimulating though haha. Also i should of been pulled over several times, but i think cops dont really look at beige camrys and have an immediate urge to pull me over haha. My friends and I call it "gramp's stealth".

I haven't driven a subbie or anything yet but from what i hear they are bullet proof cars with a lot of fun engineered into the driving experience.

Another car you may be interested in is:

VW TDI - More bullet proof engineering and fun to drive

Toyota Tacoma single cab I4 4x4- Proven off road and they will perform with bad weather. Also fairly descent gas mileage since its 4 cylinder.

both of those cars have awesome track records for reliability and usability. You could not mod either of those and still have a blast while driving. And if you decide later that modding is up your alley then the aftermarket can supply your needs.

    happy hunting!

    Subaru

the Camry is just dull, dull, dull.

But if you want to drive in the winter, fit proper winter tyres, not intermediates. AWD is not the universal panacea, as it doesn't help you stop, it just gives you more traction.

When you factor in snow, you have to factor in AWD so I say go with Subaru but the camry is also a good choice for the rest of the other seasons.

    Camry's are Dubai taxis.
