Corolla S/XRS are not sports cars, they may have an 'S' for "sporty" but that's a joke. Putting a larger engine into an existing body really doesn't mean it becomes sporty, it just has more hp. It requires more than power for that. The SI still costs more than the Corollas. With the difference in price, it's possible to get more hp than the SI, but I'm not checking that. lol.

CR-Z came out with limited power, now they have to put more power in, more hp w/ the hybrid (150/50) and likely a 200hp non-hybrid? They could have release this initially. A Miata would likely still eat this car up.

Even I agree that this should be a Toyota, if you are going to make it a Scion then at least stick with the two-letter lowercase-uppercase nomenclature. Why would it be iQ, tC, xB, xD and FT-S? Makes no sense.

I hope not, the naming of Scions is confusing, we all understand them as were car nerds. Most people cant distinguish the differences off hand just by name. We dont need another two letter name for the Scion.

Has anyone ever though the tC is called that because its the Toyota Celica.... ?

There is no way I plan to buy this car as a scion. Scion stands for cheap girly cars. NOT performance cars! I can take its at a Toyota (even though I'm not a big fan of Toyota). But not as a scion....

Guys, when the FT-86 is released as a Toyota in Australia, I will buy and send you (at cost price and postage only) all the genuine Toyota badges you need to 'convert' your Scion into the genuine article!

Just like Miata's are cheap and girly? Hahahahaha

Can't say much for the FT but Miata's are the #1 tracked production car in America.

I'm downright embarrassed to admit I didn't even know that tC stood for Toyota Celica.

Perhaps, but Toyota/Scion originally wanted xC..........but due to copyright....they could not...Volvo had it already....so it's all speculation. Who knows.
