    Welcome!

Yea it gets no better with age, just encourage it! lol

Might I say that a Single turbo is nice, but for "fun factor" instant spool is hard to beat.

Getting hit with that explosion of torque at 4000rpm from a large single will be a welcome change, haha. Although, I do agree, the twin turbo setup does serve an important purpose.

What I drive: 2007 Lexus IS350 Sport (See signature for others)

    Occupation: Financial Manager

    Education: MBA

Other interests: Motorcycles, boating, hiking, travelling, snorkling

Something different: I used to be an active 'ferret rescue' person (before I had kids...will try to be again once they--the kids--get a bit older)

Other info: Been following the Toyobaru concept since it first leaked sometime back and have been giving very serious consideration to picking one up as my next 'fun' car to add to the 'corral 'o cars

Decided to actually join the forum 'in advance' of my purchase, rather than joining after ordering/buying as I usually do. I am just as likely to get bored waiting and pick up something in the interim, but that does not mean one won't grace the corral at some point.

The 'stripped down' version of the FT-86 may be the ticket that I am looking for, however, no AC in Vegas is a NO DAMN WAY during the summer and I'll be damned if I can't drive my 'fun' car during the summer months, so that would either mean a retrofit (which would suck) or paying the premium for the 'normal' model. We'll see.

    Thanks.
I guess that my arrival here is pretty obvious.
    I love Toyota's and older Subaru's.
There has been a Supra in my garage at all times since 1985,
    and there always will be.
I love the look of the FT-86 concept and the possibilities of one with the current STI engine and six speed would seal the deal for me.
In the meantime I'll hang out here and hope.

Am I the only one who thinks Toyota doesn't seem to want to bring out this car anymore?

Yes! Toyota has gone quiet because they are secretly building it right now as we type!

    Thanks Bud.

I just can't believe that Toyota has been without a Supra here in the US for 12 yrs. now.
    It's almost criminal!

We got the MA61 and MA70 and MA70 Turbo here in Australia. A healthly demand fueled our second hand import market a few years ago and there is now a large number of JZA80 NA's and Turbo's in the country as well. A very good friend of mine has shoehorned a 2JZ-GTE into his MA61 and I have been for a ride in it, it is awesome, just awesome, it's feels like the first jump into hyperspace on the Millenium Falcon in Star Wars (distant steady points of light leap into blazing shooting stars that zoom past the windscreen.....)

The sound of the 2JZ is just insane. I have so much respect for that engine.

The FT86 is happening, no doubt about that.

    Welcome to the site!

A bit of off news, Toyota just refreshed their Supra trademark.... Dont know if it means anything.

Was it just due to expire naturally and they renewed it to stop anyone else grabbing it?

^ I would think a bit of both. Keep it as a just in case type of deal.
