A 25,000 dollar car would be reasonable for most peoples budget. I just pray that it comes turbo charged making it easier to boost. (plus I'm in cali and I don't want things to be too obvious that my car is far from stock..)

I agree about the $25,000 thing, to a point. It's such a cool bodystyle and I am hoping that Toyota will build this thing accurately and well, what with all the negatory publicity with SUA the past 1 1/2 years. But you know how it goes, $20,000 would beat $25,000 for price.

In the grand scheme of things and how cool this car is supposed to be $25,000 would probably be a fairer amount for the manufacturer to collect when selling you this car.

True, or false to you guys?

To be honest the cheaper the better, I'd love to see a model equivalent to the evo rs. No power windows or cruise control. Hell, I can put my own alarm in it. But don't slack on the important stuff. TURBO PLEASE. An adjustable suspension and higher rpm capability would be terrific.

as nice as that would be, it's not the way toyota sees it
they are more interested in sales, and people these days expect power windows and cruise control, especially in anything that costs more than a Yaris

Damn right I want power windows and cruise control. A/C too. The only thing I don't want is power seats and a navi system. I hate power seats and I would just want to rip out the stereo and install a pioneer anyways.

On the highway I am on cruise the entire time. I love it. I have so disdain for leather seats. If my car would have came with them I would have sold them and gotten stock cloths seats. Thats why I like pioneer headunits. They don't scream "OMG I AM A RADIO THAT DID'T COME IN THIS CAR LOOK AT ME!!!"

None of that flip out screen bs. Just a straight single din player with sub control, ipod hookup and a nice Eq.

K.I.S.S. Don't need much as far as comforts. AC is for the girls, so I need it, but other than that, a descent stereo. Any performance parts are appreciated.

And that same kind of interior setup that we saw months ago, with that track on the dashboard, et all. Looked cool but at first it looked like a video game that wouldn't make it to production. Come to read later that it will go to production just like that. Cool.

The dash is a bit much for me, I hope for it to be a bit toned down.

Cal, actually in thinking some more about it, I think Toy/Sub will tone the dash down for production. I can't see either manufacturer twinkie-dinky-ing the dash/steering wheel area up so much when the real deal rolls down the line.

    Hurry...HURRY! HURRY! jk...actually not!

    Get this baby going guys!

LOL. Yeah, I got it in my corolla, but don't use it. Today the heat index is 105F or something. I used to drive my mr2 turbo without AC doing pizza delivery when I got laid off years ago. That's hot. Steam AND black interior. Thank goodness I got cloth seats.

I need ac for when I have girls riding in the car though.

I actually grew to like the track and weird dash, it just took a while.

Here's an article on the four-door possibilities, it will happen and much sooner than you think later. To that I say turn up Foghat's 'Rock and Roll Outlaws' and uncork a large Margarita, 'cause I can glob one step closer ta snagging one of these babies.

Toyota FT-86 four-door with a boxer engine exposure , Cars Review

    That's what I'm talkin' about

    Here's another online article:
    http://www.worldcarfans.com/11009032...riant-rumoured

    And another:
    http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2...ta-lineup.html

This one mentions that the FT-86 is actually based on the Subaru Legacy (sedan) platform, so a 4-dr. is not so hard to fathom.

^I highly doubt the 4 door will come out from Scion. Maybe from Subaru, though. Me, I want the coupe, basic accessories and ALL performance options. I think I'm going to wait on this because I want to know if a turbo model is coming down the pike before I purchase. It also very much depends on price. If it's over 25k, good luck getting me to buy it new. I want it, but I'm cheap! lol

Price will stay under $25,000 if this car is sold as a Scion. Look at Scion's "one price fits all" for $18,000 or less philosophy. That's been their mainstay since inception, or shortly after their U.S. debut. The jury is still out on Scion as far as their overall acceptance. It's not that rosy of a picture.

This FR-S looks to be a game-breaker, however.

For a base model maybe. I feel like this car will top the TC as the top scion.

Oh, for sure for sure. With the FR-S one gets a lot more car, or should I say a lot more car focused to really drive for pleasure. Everything about the engineering of this car says flog me now. 6-speeds of fun!

BTW-anyone know how smooth a shifter Toy/Sub are going to use for this car? Subie mechanicals so most of you guys will know more about what they use than I do. I'm not Subie-fluent at all.
