    Production FR-S vs Concept FR-S

Thought I would start a list of things that obviously will not make it to the production model and things that might.

    obviously
-wheels, esp not single lug lol
    -brakes
    -headlights
    -air ducts
    -side mirrors
    -rear diffuser
    -ride height
    -door handle

    maybe, but prob not
    -roof
    -hood
    -middle brake light

    maybe actually
    -exhaust (minus diffuser)

all IMO what you guys think

The illuminated scion logo is the most badass body accessory I have ever seen.

External easy-access door handles are antiquated. Scion should eliminate them altogether.

if the roof stays the same i find it hard for a sunroom to be an option
i also just noticed the tail lights, looks almost as if they were glued on haha, they go over the sides and the trunk
cant really see how the trunk would open on this car, pretty sure it couldnt lol, anyway

I would agree with the sunroof, it would be tough to put in. On a car that low I think headroom will be at a premium.

I also agree about a traditional trunk, it would be tough to open. I think it may be a hatchback.

Roof line will definitely change. They will add more roof less window and put sunroof option.

They are on the concept, they won't be in production. Do we try and guess where the separation point is going to be? Will the space for 4 fitted track tyres and rims and a floor jack in the back, with the rear seats folded down make it through to production?

These mentions of a sunroof surprise me. I want minimal weight, especially up high, and minimal drag too. Sunroofs don't belong in a car like this one.

That arrangement works great on my motorcycle. But there is no way this would make it to production as the wheel would be model specific to the FRS. Looks cool as hell though.

Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but it seemed most convenient to post this here. It's a Japanese magazine render of the spy shots we hall have seen. Lemme know if this was already posted.

    Not bad...

I have a feeling that this will be the closest looking version to the actual production model that we have seen to date.

    I actually like them. LOL

Not as sharp and cool looking as the ft-86 II or FRS, but not too bad either. I'm more worried the tail end will look fugly after seeing the spy shots. Although a 250+ hp turbo model would still persuade me to get one. Why? There is really nothing on the market that is sub-3000 lbs, over 240 hp, easy to mod and handle very well for a good price. The 370z, MX5 and Stang are about the best sports cars to mod, but none have all of what I want.

I really don't like that spoiler. It literally spoils the car for me. Did they get a good deal on them when Pontiac went under?

LOL. You know, it will probably be an option, so you don't have to have one.

EJ25> I know what you mean, the shape has changed on the production version. I think the front overhang really hurts the look, but probably makes the car more aerodynamic. That and the hood seems to come down a little into the windshield, which makes it look funny. Overall, the front overhang, IMO, is what kills the look. Should have pushed the front wheels 6" forward, which would have helped with weight distribution too.

i think the worst part is the rear part of the roof, and the side windows... shape wise
there are many other things about the II concept which i hate though

The rear window was to make it more Scion like. Look at the tC's and you'll notice that same shape. Same with the front grille.

i guess just looking back at the original ft86 makes me sad, seeing what a great design they started with
