Thumbs up Turbo FT-86! Toyota drops G Sports Concept at Tokyo Auto Salon

Been a lurker for a couple of weeks now, can't wait for the Subaru version personally. Fans of the Toyota version should be really thrilled with this tho! Toyota just dropped a turbo version of the FT-86 at TAS this morning called the G Sports Concept.

Love the widebody treatment on this thing. If they lost the wing and grafx this could easily sell in a dealership.

That is quite sexy. Wing is definitely a big fail, not too sold on the front bumper either, but I know it is just for appeal. This is going to be a sexy car.

This does one thing as far as I'm concerned. Confirms 100% that this thing is going into production. You don't hand out copies of concept cars to aftermarket companies to build one offs if you don't intend to produce the car.

    YES!

And that shit is HOT! I really dig the front bumper. It makes the car look a little less Toyota-ish...which I'm not complaining about, even though i do like the original concept.

The more I see this car the more I am into it. Subaru needs to drop a concept already.

Yeah, I really like the overall look. I'm sure it'll change somewhat when it hits production...hopefully they get a different rear spoiler.

EDIT: Can anyone see my signature? I can't seem to get it to work.

Welcome, I would bet my grandma that spoiler will not be standard.

You don't have a signature at this time.

Very drool worthy, I don't care for the C/F look (real?) bonnet, but the rest is just drop dead sexy.

Lets hope it really is more than just cosmetic. Another iteration of Scion-type special editions would give G-Sport the slog "All the plastic. None of the Power."

That is probably part of the plan. Let Toyota go first then once they are closer to release Subaru will probably drop a concept. That way the cars don't steal each others thunder.

Ken went to wear the money is now. Hard to blame him or anyone else really, under those circumstances. Ford are keen to ride the hype associated with him and bask in his glory.

Pretty much. At the end of the day one's loyalties will lie with whoever signs their paycheck.
