it will replace my shitty 2001 Subaru RS, which i bought in order to have fun with only to find out that japanese steel is not forgiving to canadian winters (rust everywhere)

also it seems like all the things that could go wrong, are going wrong, and at this point it will be cheaper for me to either drop an STi swap into it or just sell it as is and start fresh.

i think i'll do the smart thing and start fresh

i just hope my clutch will last me until the FRS makes it to our shores.

It (Subaru BRZ) will replace the void in my heart that has existed for the past 7 years, since I've sold all nine of my past 240sx's, two of the last WRX's, and RS 2.5.

    It will be sweeeeet.

Family car will have to stay lol.

It will replace the empty space in my garage . It wont be a daily driver, I have my CL for that. I plan on using this on the weekends and possibly some track days if I grow a pair.
    Daily - '03 Acura CL-S6, very sleepy
    Fun - FR-S or BRZ???

Seeing as I won't be buying one till 2014 or 2015 I have no idea what it will replace. Might be the S14.

Your best bet is to sell it and start fresh. My friend has already gone through this with his RS. STi-swapped a rusty silver RS, got hit, bought a new blue RS, swapped everything over again, blew a head gasket, fixed it, blew a piston ring, and just finished putting a built short block in. For all that money he coulda bought a brand new STi and been a lot happier.

In my case, the AE86 is getting the boot regardless, and If I get an FR-S/BRZ I won't be leasing another S4 in 6 months... But I dunno if I wanna trade a $54k Audi for a $25k Scion.... I've already got two RWD lightweight sports cars with the MR2 and the Z, and all three of these cars would be faster than an FR-S/BRZ...

Yeah, me too. I got the right mods (20g, 93+ brakes and a pfc on hand) and work in on mine, so it's hard to want to buy a slower car that won't be easy to mod. The brz/frs needs a turbo badly!

Im on the fence about selling my s14 for a down payment. I really want to keep a track car so I might end up with payments a little higher than I would like. Gotta keep my 91 corolla though, 315k and 36 mpg. Nobody would want it and I wouldn't want to get rid of it

Had an 07 sti that I totaled. Been looking for a replacement ever since since the wife won't let me get another one. The BRZ is the perfect solution.

2002 BMW 325i - thought I was going to be a BMW guy forever. These cars look so good, look like so much fun to drive, likely less expensive to maintain, and so much easier for car audio.

the words "STi" and "beater" should never be in the same sentence.

if you saw how beat my 120k mile sti was, youd agree
it's actually a perfect winter beater, it's awd for the snow, and enough power to make the drive to work bearable! BRZ is gonna be mostly a track car when im done with it

Man that sucks. I love those model STI's more than any other. I can't afford one so I think the BRZ is also the perfect solution.

Fixed. How do those Crown Vics drive? They seem like the have little body roll and can get up to speed fairly decent considering all how heavy the must be.

depending on the timing, the BRZ will replace my Mini Cooper S (slightly modified c 210bhp and running on Bilsteins and a Cobalt skid plate) or an S1 Lotus Elise in yellow.

Probably wont buy new... But in 2013/14 I will be replacing my '00 Celica GTS for this... hopefully.

Of course if the 2015 Supra gets introduced much lower than $80K I may just wait till 2016/17 (yes the GTS still has plenty of life left in her) for it .

With 3 kids now, I barely have a chance to drive my 1999 Mazda Miata. Til now, I haven't had the heart to let it go ... nor have I found a car I'm willing to replace it with.

All indications state that the FR-S is going to be the perfect replacement. It's not quite a family car, but I can haul 3 little kids in the back and have a blast.

It may be a toss up between the FR-S and the Genesis coupe. Both are amazing. Let's see how the RWD coupe wars work itself out.

The Gen coupe is a LOT bigger and probably more comfy in the backseat for your kids. But it handles a lot more like a GT. It's softer and if you get the 4cyl engine, quite slow.
