    Lotus Input?

I really hope Toyota give the FT-86/FR-S to Lotus in England to do the suspension tuning. They did fabulous work with the AW11 MR2 and (I think?) the SW20 MR2 as well.

This would be quite nice, if so.

The last Supra was a great handling machine (.98 cornering). Toyota knows how to do it right on their own now

Sure, but Hiromu Naruse recently past on, and hopefully Gazoo will continue with other talents. There's nothing wrong with a little assistance from partners once in a while.

Toyota has never been shy when asking for help on important cars, Lotus and Dan Gurney on the MR2, Yamaha on 4 valve technology....

Word, I think Toyota is better off in this case. I wasn't aware Lotus helped with the mr2s, which is cool. However they most likely needed consulting because they aren't mid rear experts.

The original MR2 was designed and built with Toyota and Lotus both heavily involved, and both were to have a version. The MR2 was the first Toyota not badged as a Toyota. Design was heavily influenced by the Lotus Turbo Esprit, and developed as the SV3 for Toyota and the M100 for Lotus. The deal with Lotus ended abruptly when Lotus was found to also be working with GM on a secret car. Discussion continues to this day whether the MR2 is a Lotus or Toyota.

Dan Gurney, a Toyota racer at the time, was involved in final chassis tuning.
Yamaha was the designer of the 4AGE engine.

The MR2 was the first 2 seat car ever made by Toyota. The 2000GT was designed and built by Yamaha and offered to Datsun who turned it down before Toyota bought from Yamaha and sold it as a Toyota, losing money on every one sold due to its complex sheet metal.

This continues to be one of the most fun cars to drive.

The target is just above $20,000, so Toyota and Subaru will face tough competition from V-6 versions of the Chevy Camaro and the Ford Mustang, along with the Miata and the Hyundai Genesis coupe.

lotus had some brief work with it, but how far and how much stayed the same is questionable.
