Media Secondary Rear Caliper on Concept Toyota FT-86

Missed this one! Check it out, the Toyota FT-86 apparently has a secondary rear caliper to assist you with wrecking your FT-86, ala Drifting.

One of the guys on the other sites is saying that it is the parking brake mechanism. He says that the supra has it and it is difficult to change brake pads using this system. Just relaying info, I have not checked the supra.

That is small enough to be just a handbrake / park brake only.

Sure looks like a parking brake caliper to me.

I have heard rumor that a more focused track version of this car will be available which will include bigger better binders. This excites me a great deal as good brakes are worth their weight in gold in open lapping situations.

Looks like it would be a hassle to change. I would hope with this cars drifting roots they would make it easy to change the pads.

I think what the OP means is that a parking brake is a great way to induce the rear end to slide out in a RWD car. That's how I used to do it on my 71 Pinto back in the day.

Disc over drum is why I wouldn't swap out my 240 brakes for 300zx or q45's. Who wants to change two sets of pads on rear wheels? I really like the 240 stock design that uses just rear pads.
