just got my second set of BFGoodrich T/A KDW 2's
definitely not the quietest, but very sticky
tread life seems decent with "normal" driving haha

I've been using Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons for quite a while. This is my third set and can honestly say they're pretty durable with my daily driver. I change my 4 tires every 30,000 miles. I like the fact that there is carbon fiber inside the sidewalls for extra rigidity. Good luck with your decision.

    ^Informative post.

I think I need a better tire for wet weather. The S14 does NOT like to stay steady past 55mph when it is raining.

Yokoahama AVS Sports are my fav daily drive tire, they aren't so hot in the snow with RWD. That's what a second set of wheels and tires are for.

My budget allows for thousands of rubber bands strapped to my wheels.

I run Yokohama's A539. It's an excellent dry weather tyre.

What on earth is this crap. Please don't ever let me find one on a FT-86 unless it was used for colored smoke in a drift comp. Even then that's straight up horrid.

Alright, so this year I hate to say but I want to purchase snow tires for the Maxima. I MUST have reliable transportation in snowy conditions, granted here in Denver we honestly get little now. When we get it, it will come hard and then be sunny the next day, or even next hour. Even still, my tires now are in need of replacing. I plan to equip my OEM 17" with snow tires and purchase 18" aftermarkets next year for summer conditions. Anyways here are my options, please chime in, I'm yet to ever buy snow tires even after surviving RWD + Summer ties for the past 15+ years. I cant bring myself to spend more than 180/tire and so the following are my options.

Like I said I'm partial to Yoko's but between the two there is clear differences in sidewalls and treads, I want to maintain some level of stick to dry roads. What would you all buy? Remember they'd only be on for the winter season.

i ran firestone winterforce studded tires last winter on the 240.
only time it ever got sketchy was when i was in snow plow mode.
    i highly recommend them.

My favorite is Goodyear F1 all season. Great with everything You can throw at them. It is usually the first change I make to a newly purchased Car.

    alrighty,

my tires arived late last week. 4 new federal 595 205/50 16s from tiresavings.com for 70 dolla a piece.

they are on an 8inch wide wheel. so they are stretched a tiny bit. they have a nice lil bump that protects the lip of your wheels which is cool. steel reinforced sidewall.

they are superrr sticky. i pulled out of my driveway and it left tire marks on the sidewalk. lol.

but yaaa. i love em, dry traction is the best ive ever had. it hasnt rained yet... but when it does il let you guys know how they were.
they kinda complete the look of the car dont they?

Your tires are looking good bersh. I love it when they balance & align your tires (colored chalk) so no worries with the tread life. Amazing bargain!

This is what the FT-86 concept has:

Tyres are Potenza RE050 245/40R19 at the front and 275/35R19 at the rear.

That's pretty meaty! I only have 245/40R18 all around...blaaaah....but do plan for 275/40R18 for the spring 2011 w/ some new rims.

I am thinking that Toyota won't put 19" tires on the FR-S(FT-86) at production time. More like 18" of some flavor.

They may even go smaller to save $$$ like 17". The Honda S2000 has 17" and the 86 is just about that size, but again, we shall see.

Recently put on new tires for my Nissan Maxima and Scion tC. Goodyear Triple Treads for the Nissan and Eagle F1 All seasons for the Scion. Really smooth ride quality and excellent foul weather grip for both.

I have had 2 sets of toyo proxes4 all seasons on my svx and for an all season tire, the grip they have cannot be knocked. Never had a problem in wet weather in em doin 90+ in moderate rain, and they saw snow duty in the blizzard back in february and worked just fine on compressed/packed snow/icy roads. So long as I kept the speed levels sane. the only possible gripe i had is when I switched to them from the generic goodyears that were on the car when I bought it, is that the turn in response feels almost delayed, like you turn the wheel and as soon as youve settled on where you want the car to go, then it goes. did that make sense? either way, it doesnt bother me in the slightest, just those who like the car to move as soon as the steering wheel does may be slightly disappointed. lasted about 30-33k a set through spirited daily driving that saw 11 miles of highway and 6 miles of curvy curves.

toyo proxes4 meet all requirements for excellent dd tire duty.
