The federals are starting to show a lil camber wear
Not bad though considering all the launches, burnouts, spirited drives and having stupid alignment specs to fit them.

Michelin Pilot Super Sport Introductory Track Drive
An article about a recent replacement to the benchmark PS2 tire. Seems VERY promising.
fd1's are great tires. for like normal cars. they arnt a super sticky sporty tire.
remember federals run big...
I run Kuhmo Ecsta ASTs right now on my Saturn year-round. I've put 20k miles o them and still have plenty of room to spare. I have Hankook Ventus R-s3 on the Mazda during summer and Blizzaks in winter. Haven't put any miles on the Blizzaks though cuz I blew the motor the day after I bought them. Now its time for summer tires. O well.
i would like Yokohama Advan Neova AD08

Yea, its my family car and Im resisting any attempts to modify the car. Huge difference between these and my snow tires lol.

*205/50R16 91V @46psi -4 below spec ,california has high temps on freeways.
Im on my 2nd set- they have alot of grip, great in the rain and have almost 0 noise on the freeway!
I changed my first set out 1 month ago, ad after 25K Miles I am proud to say one of my better purchases!
I'll be looking for Toyo R888's or R1-R's - both sticky, the former in various compounds, and the latter in one compound only but with more grooves. Summer only obviously. In the meantime, I'm running Uniroyal RainSport2's as 'wets' and Nokian Hakkapeliitta7 M&S as 'winters'.
I have run Hankook Ventus R-S2's in the past and was going to replace them with R-S3's but they were sold out over the summer, so I got Toyo R1R's. No complaints on the Toyos except for the price. I'd rather have gotten the Hankooks and saved about $150 total. I pretty much have a boner for Hankook tires; they're in the top 10 best tire manufacturers which is pretty impressive for a Korean company, and they seem to have their hand in all sorts of motorsports these days!
I run Hankook winter iPike w409 snows and they are fantastic! I chose to go studless this time around and was afraid they wouldn't perform the way my old studded snows did, but they really impressed me.

I'm surprised no one has yet commented on the use of the Michelin's borrowed from the Prius parts bin for these cars. I checked out TR last night, and found that of the summer/AS in that same size, THE MICHELINS WERE THE MOST EXPENSIVE A/S BY A HUGE MARGIN, AND WERE RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE HIGHEST PRICED SUMMERS!!
It's one thing to put a super expensive 'touring' tire on a Prius, because it will probably last forever on that car, so you'll end up replaceing a set prob only once in the life of the car. But on a RWD sports car like the FR-S/BRZ.... fuggedaboutit! There are waaaaay better performing rubber, at half the cost of the Michelin's, available on TR. If you can swing a deal with the dealer to have your own tires installed at purchase without penalty, I'd do it. Otherwise, smoke those stockies - quickly. Then get something else. Anybody who ends up replacing stock with stock, is just plain![]()

tirerack.com has all this info and more, plus it's where I spent countless hours researching tires for my old Lotus and current R32.
For a track only tire you shouldn't drive home on as they are racing slicks nor should they be used if there's water falling from the sky or on the track:
-BF Goodrich g-Force R1-S (for autocross/hillclimb)
or
-BF Goodrich g-Force R1 (for trackdays)
or
-Hoosier A6 (for autocross/hillclimb)
or
-Hoosier R6 (for trackdays)
For a track only tire you can drive home on (I wouldn't buy these for a daily driver as they wear really quick):
-Toyo R888
For a insane amount of grip for the daily driver that may also see a trackday or two each year (they don't wear as quick as the above):
-Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
or
-Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star spec
or
-Yokohama Advan Neova AD08
For winter tires I currently have which I like:
-Bridgestone Blizzaks LM-60
Also a quick opinion. Never buy all seasons unless you're too lazy to have the tires swapped during the winter(snow/ice)/summer season because summer tires are drastically better when dry and just as good in the rain. All seasons are for Camry drivers that don't give a *%$# what their tires do. If you don't see snow more than one day a year forget winter and all seasons and just get summer tires. The above tires aren't cheap but they are worth it. As they say, you've got to pay to play!
