Smile Whats for you and your FT-86/086a - Autocross, Circuit, Drifting, Touge, Drag Racing?

Considering this will be brand spankin new car that will put us all (or most) in debt I wanted to see what form of motorsport moistens your panties the most for you own use, if you bought a new FT-86 or 086a?

For me, I will have to say the Track/AutoX and Touge. I wont drift unless I get some serious track time with it.

Bah! This car should be a champ on the Drag, but its heart will be track/drift.

Auto-X and road racing for me. No drift and no drag for me.

The only mods I'd be willing to do would be suspension, and wheels. I'd consider a nice front lip and rear valences, and possibly a nice high quality exhaust.

Over-all I wanna keep it low and stock-ish.

Mine will get light duty in autocross, circuit, drag racing and some drifting as well. However, since it'll be my DD and I already have a track project, this will likely see mostly autocross and light circuit use.

Road racing, some autox since it's cheaper, but mostly road racing.

First thing I'd do is get an extra set of wheels and tires for Auto X. Oh and switch over to Mobil 1.

Also, something lame to note. If changing your oil yourself and stop going in for "regular rip off maintenance" you will void the warranty. Although I bet most of us will be perfectly ok with that. As long as they cover the transmission I'm good

I used to use it in my Eclipse. I just liked it. I beat that car so bad throughout it's life and I never had any issues.

Are dealers really doing that? I'm gonna just try an negotiate free oil changes for as long as i have the car when I purchase it.

It's not that bad, all you have to do is proof that you change your oil yourself or at the other shop. Receipt for the oil purchase will do it.

Cool, sadly I never looked into that when I worked at Toyota haha. Makes sense though.

Again, I should have thought about that They will obviously want to sell you extra crap if you try and negotiate that. I will definitely do this when I go to buy mine, those $40 "Maintenance" items are such crap.

Mine will be dedicated to AutoX, normal high-speed driving and cornering, and drift.

I'll use it as my DD and drifter, I'll have to sell the S14 to get this thing, so I'll need something to drift!

If I get one, it would be my DD. Most likely it would see a drag strip once(just to see my time), autocross (not often, because of my work schedule), track day(more like, at least one, driving school) and trips on 2 lane roads whenever I can.

Mine will serve DD duties but the plan is to auto-x, hillclimb, circuit sprints and targa stages on closed public roads.

Don't need AWD to rally, have a look at any old WRC footage pre-4WD days. The attitude on the RWD Ford Escorts is brilliant...
