Hopefully that wouldn't happen because I'd probably never drift anywhere that has a huge risk. (IE: Public Roads) But if it did happen.. I'd claim a dog ran out in front of me and I tried to dodge. (Hopefully the full coverage would save me.)
But stuff happens. Gotta pick up the pieces and move on.
If i ever get around to getting one, auto-x at first then drifting down the road once it's considered "old"
my uncle is a pro racer. hes been racing type r's for over 10 years. hes told me numerous times DONT track your daily.. so yeah its tempting but i think the odd track and drift occasionally will do it for me.
already had wet dreams over hitting corners at high speeds behind that sexy wheel.
there is wisdom to not tracking your daily. its very very hard on the car and heaven forbid you taco it up. most (if not all by now) insurance will refuse to cover "drivers education" events or anything else done on a closed course.
as with anything else risk tolerance and situation depend on the person and what one hopes to achieve.
Have fun with your car safely - no matter what you want to do with it. "The car is for the pleasure of enjoyment of the driving experience...."
Autox and road course
My new car will be for Backroad racing and DD, with possible AutoX. I'll keep my 240's for the drifting, club track time and most AutoX. Once it's beat down a bit, I'll replace the FR-S with a G37 for DD and the FR-S can take the place of the 240 for track torture and modifications.

Backroads... Nature's Race Track
Well, I don't know about others and their 240SX cars, but my S14 should be ready for a dirt nap by then and the S13 might get sold, but as much as I drive, it will probably be ready for the pik'n'pull also.
Actually, I'm supposing many 240sx drivers have given up waiting for a Nissan S16/ Silvia and are eyeing this car as a similar platform to transition to. I view it as like buying a new 240 that won't need bushings and suspension and an engine right away.
Backroads... Nature's Race Track
AutoX and canyon roads near Austin with friends. I'd love to do a track day, they've got them here in Houston. And maybe some snow drifting in the parking lots of the northeast somewhere...
this'll be a fast road car, but maybe some track days, when my tyres and pads get towards the end of the their useful life.
Touge, circuit and learn to drift because it will be my first RWD
thinking about a membership to the local track.
But to be honest I've drag raced twice and autoX'd once...
Was going to rallyX the Starion I had when I found the rusty frame rail..
Not even sure yet if can buy one right away. May have to buy one when its 2 years old.

Well, I've currently got three old sports cars that I'm building for three different purposes:
1987 MR2: auto-x, hillclimbs, track days
1985 Corolla GT-S: drifting
1973 Datsun 240Z: highway/top speed, dyno queen
So I'm not sure where that would leave an FR-S/BRZ. I'll probably just use it as a fun daily driver to take the long way home through back roads with, and go on cruises. Keep mods limited to only TRD/SPT stuff so when I sell it the next person can enjoy a well-kept, unmolested example.
My friend Kevin runs www.drift-spot.org, a local drifting club that rents out New Hampshire Motor Speedway for a few days out of the year. There has to be events down in FL; just do a search online for local drifting. The drifting community is getting pretty good at getting drifting off the streets and onto legally sanctioned events.Originally Posted by toyofan

Pick up a good looking chick. Back seat baby!
I will mostly Auto X it, Take it to TOTD. But I would like to try drifting.
if anyone here is from Ontario, Canada and wanted to find out where you could race your car (both autorcross and touge/time attack), let me know and i can fill you in.
Anywhere I can because I'm stupid but that's another discussion. There's a few places near Cincinnati where I can legally drift and compete but backroads are fun too.
Yeah street drifting is stupid, I'm stupid, it's dangerous bla bla bla....Thanks mom but I don't give a shit.![]()
If. Your in south jersey there are quite a few good places I use munion field road to test and tune but I know people who use it for drifting
I am thinking I will get back into SCCA autocross with one. I am guessing A Stock or maybe B stock class for this in its unmodified state. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. Can it hang with an S2000 in AX?
