Dude, there's a 1966 Ford Fairlane for sale in the Wal*Mart parking lot here in Elko, NV. It is baby blue in color, 4 doors, and the body is straight. They want only $6,000. If I had the $6,000 I'd buy the car, after a long test drive, that is. Looks great. The for sale sign says it drives good. I'd take it to a local mechanic and pay them $40 to look it over real good. Automatic tranny.

Don't get a boring old Corolla or Civic or Accord. Yuk! Just sayin'!

You might be able to find a relatively cheap Mitsubishi Exclispse GSX.

Get a 03+ Nissan Sentra Spec V, if you're looking for something fun. These cars are torquey, and they are a blast to drive. Since they looked more subtle than your every day ricer, a lot of mature older adults drove them, so you can find them in good condition. Just make sure to replace the exhaust manifold with a cheap header, to avoid precat problems. Have a mechanic check the compression. If it's good, you're golden.

If you just want an older A-B reliable car, get an older civic, as long as it's in good shape.

Older GTI's or Rabbit's if you want a car that will have problems, but the problems your gonna have are things that you can fix yourself and will ultimately be good for you.

or and older SI Civic, despite what people say about Civics, everyone knows that they are great cars. And you can pick and early 2000's one up for pretty cheap. They make some of the "Most enjoyable commuter cars".

Small world, Bryant! I'm in Ogden, also. Right off Riverdale. Check KSL's automotive for sale section, they have a ton of reliable cheapo cars.

agreed. fast and pretty reliable too. sw20>zzw31>aw11

i've seen mr-s (zzw31) for 7-9K with 80-100K on them. good for 30 mpg and fun. not good in snow though.

a celica is a good option, too. although i'm not a fan of the ZZ motors in the newer celicas/corolla's/mr-s. they get great mileage, but my 1zz didn't hold up to my abuse near as well as my 95 rolla or my 91 mr2.

the v-spec would be nice but aren't they somewhat rare?

older si is another good car.

older lexus SC are sweet, but mileage is not so good. they will last forever though.

nothing a little weight reduction and a set of shocks/springs can't change. i like the look of them.

BMW 3 series. Just pick the year old enough to meet your budget.
