    BRZ / FR-S Interiors

I'm having a hard time choosing btw the Scion and Subaru.

Are the interiors different (other than the nav in the subie)?

    Does anyone have production pix?

No not really. The interiors should be about the same. From what I see. Whats bothering me is there going to be steering wheel mounted controls? I saw a video showing off AHA radio. And in the background of the BRZ I did see controls. I hope we do because bluetooth, and music controls on a touchscreen while driving. Not good...

But other than the touchscreen they should be exactly alike.

After combing through all of the pictures of both the BRZ and FRS I was wondering the same thing...it almost looks like the FR-S that we'll get has a few different looking controls for the climate control--m/l due to dual climate control offered in the BRZ. Along with that, the BRZ appears to offer toggle switches below the dual zone climate control knobs:

    2013 Subaru BRZ [w/video]

I don't know if the same control scheme will be available in the premium (since to my knowledge that version does not offer dual climate control/push button start?)

This also appears to be the configuration for nonUS spec FT-86's....

The FR-S has the standard 3 climate control knobs that are staggered:

Hmmmm.....one other thing about interiors that I have noticed.....

It would appear there is NO elbow/armrest for your right arm.....Yikes...Maybe seating position is too low? I dunno....small detail

the toyota and scion versions get a white face tachometer whereas the subaru gets black/gray one. this leans me towards the scion

Not so sure about the Scion having white faced instruments.

Lets see, the premium trim on the BRZ will have the standard three knobs like the FR-s.
From what I've talked to a parts manger at Subaru who has ridden in the car states that. "the car put me in my seat that both hands should be on the wheel anyways." I've sat in it, and what i can say is that its not a huge issue, you can still rest your forearm and elbow. But I like a closable functional armrest in my opinion. Maybe the aftermarket parts will make a cover for it. I thought I saw a slide out cover on a concept picture before.
I think there will be red stitching on both. In the premium there will be the same seats from the FR-S. Or so I believe.

I'm pretty sure the panel is white by day, but lights up at night.

There is no options for the interior. other than the subaru limited model having leather seats. otherwise, you have no choice in interior color.

    Red's not so bad...

Still it would have been cool to have blue stitching with a blue exterior.

its just that if i'm gonna fork over 25+ grand on something, i'd like it to be exactly how i want. and despite popular belief, red isnt that great of a color when it comes to cars.. especially if the exterior is blue

So the FR-S interior can't be leather?

I know this has probably been posted somewhere but I can't find it. In terms of options for the BRZ I understand there is premium and limited... but what about for the FR-S? And what comes with the different trim? (leather seats, nav, heated seats, lights, etc)

Please PLEASE don't tell me it only comes in one trim.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the FR-S comes in cloth trim only. If you want leather you need to go with the BRZ.

Oh... For the FR-S, no nav, no heated seats (heated cloth?), and std headlights. Really, you want a Subie!

Too late. Already pre-ordered FR-S. LoL if we don't have those things then what does it come with? I'm okay with the subie grill, maybe I should've just gotten a black limited BRZ. ARGH

BRZ Premium has different cloth seats than the FR-S (different texture, no red accents) and has navigation and HID headlights with LED DRL's standard.

BRZ Limited adds heated seats, heated exterior mirrors, fog lights, auto climate control, rear spoiler, keyless access/start, leather/alcantara seating. FRS gets none of that, but costs ~$3,300 less.

Anyone know whether fog lights will be std or avail as an option on the FR-S? All the pix on the Scion website show them, but they aren't listed as std equip.

Does that mean that they won't come with fog lamps, but they will be available for installation, after the fact, in August?

no idea. but i think it'd be a safe bet to say that they'd be a ~350$ accessory.

The speedometer on the left is a trip, I only watch the digital one. The one to left goes to 160 :0

I think they nailed it with the instrumentation. I love having the tach front and center w/ digital speedo (plus an analog one to the left).

That BBK is sexy. I think BBK and the seats would be good for me. The rest of the stuff I can get aftermarket for the rest. Suspension techniques, SPL, Cusco etc.
