Do you think there should be a convertible version?

If you ask me, this would have been an interesting competitor to the s2000..

A convertible would be nice but Toyota is more interested in sales overall, not a niche-mobile like this car would definitely be. It does look really nice though.

    absolutely not!
    IMO
i hate convertibles. toyota has the solara for that, and the s2000 is gone.
however, whoever made the pic did a real nice job photoshopping!

X3. No convert please. That will just dilute sales and make toyota not want to bring it back for Toyobaru v2.

Can the shooper do one with the pillar thingy? I love it when they have the pillar thing in the middle, like how ppl do their RX7's (FC3S). Also, can the original shooper do one where the seats have that mesh thing in the headrest, like BMW Z3's? Prolly will look much cooler and aggressive

They can make a convertible. That's o.k. with me. I'll be sure to get a coupe. My last three cars have all been roadsters and I'm no longer that interested in top down driving.

Thats true, and on top of that they'd have to reinforce the chassis and that will add weight... No Bueno..

A convertible would be nice, I suppose, to the extent it enhances sales (women in their 50's who can't stretch to an SLK?) and keeps the factory at capacity, but it would divert valuable resources away from a car that is already late to market.

    I wouldn't go near it.

I am not a huge fan of convertibles myself and I think Jeremy Clarkson said it best "Why pay more for a car that's only half built"? -Not the actual quote- But "Yes" I do agree that is a very well done Photoshop pic.

a removable center just like a targa, but has strengthened bars from top of window to c-pillars. it must not weigh more and must be just as strong as far as chassis rigidity. i don't really use the ac, so any airflow is welcome. lol. gotta keep them nuggets from gettin too soggy. LOL

I don't even want a sunroof, every car I've driven with one sucks when you have a helmet on, you usually lose 1-1.5 inches of headroom that makes it a pain when it come to the track w/ a helmet on. Not to mention added weight at the top of the vehicle, one of the worst places you can add weight when it comes to handling characteristics.

I second what Cal just said. By adding $3~4k for convertible, just take that money and improve the engine. May be left over $ for body kit to look like the FRS concept?
