I was just looking at the pictures of the test car on the nurburgring, trying not to be depressed, when I realized there might be a ray of hope. The styling cue I like most about the FR-S concept is the low hood and tall fenders. It of course won't meet European Pedestrian Impact requirements, but since the FR-S is being developed specifically for the US market they could give us something more like the FR-S concept.
