I can. It's only 4 years. Plenty of time for me to build the RB25 S14 and be tired of it and ready for a new car.

It's going to be spent over years. I am starting it next year hopefully. I plan to do everything in stages. Last year was buy the car. This year is suspension and aero. I still have sway bars, diff and multi-link arms to go this year. Next year I plan to buy the engine + get some of the swap parts. Year after that, rest of swap parts and drop in.

425-455 max hp. Just normal driving 350-370hp. Much more than that is pushing the chassis limits from I have been told of others with high HP S14s.

Thanks, and no I have never driven a boosted car, that's why I plan to use the stock turbo awhile before switching to the high hp one so I can learn how to drive with power.

this is why I might keep my mr2. At the point where big power is almost at my finger tips! The 20g may only hit 350 or so on pump, but I can tune for it and e85 where people have done 440 whp. A turbo swap after that and 500+ whp it is.

There is no confirmed date as such for now, but is known to be released in 2012 probably after the release of Scion IQ.

Well, I recently drove some different sports cars around some mountain roads. It really shed some light on things I don't get to experience by simply driving around my 240s.

Most had traction control and special braking systems and the systems are transparent most of the time. These were real sports cars though, so the systems had street, sport and defeatable settings. Only once did I trigger the traction control system in one and it seemed to adjust the break and throttle ever so slightly. I blame it on the semi auto tranny, weight distribution, and road conditions at the time.

Anyway, If active safety systems are designed around a sports car performance mentality and gripping the road is the goal, then they are not terrible things to have on a car. Additionally, if I were to just be commuting about, I'd drive with them on, especially in poor road conditions. However, If I'm in the mood to screw around, burn tires or play stunt driver on some paddock, I still think the systems need to be completely defeatable.

It helped me realize all cars are different, even common features are executed differently between manufacturers. I won't know if I like the FR-S until I test drive it. I will hope for an off button for computer controlled features like traction and stability control. And, as of very recently, in light of new information and experience I might even test drive a paddle shifting semi-auto, if they make a good one.

So, getting slightly off topic (btw - nice plans for your s14 Cal) does anyone have any information on the possible transmissions and when I get to test drive my new car?

I agree that those features probably are great for DD and all but would be a nice thing to be able to turn off. A lot of the higher up cars, Ferrari, GTR etc. give you the options to do that. It would be nice for that tech to work its way down to the cheaper cars.

    Oh an thanks hiplainsdrftr
