    Florida checking in...

What's up guys (& girls?) Just signed up on here as I've started following this concept more closely. I had been aware of it, before but hadn't taken a really close look at it until I was helping my roommate car shop recently. He ended up getting a 2011 Scion tC, of course internet searches kept bringing me to the FT-86/FR-S and I started to get hooked. High hopes for this car. I've followed two other cars from concept to eventually purchasing. Maybe this will be the third. Never owned a Toyota or a Subaru before, so this could be a first.

Btw, is anyone here also over on FT86club? There's a few FT86 forums out there, and just wondered what the opinion was between them.

Welcome. I haven't been to the other forums but I so enjoy this one. I'm sure they are all great in some way. What car have you followed from concept to purchase.

The 2 were kind of intertwined actually. I had been following the Civic Si concept as well as the Mazda MPS concept (Mazdaspeed6), prior to their '06 launches. I had a deposit down for an '07 Si (due to overwhelming demand, the '06's were sold out). In the meantime, I found a great deal on a MS6 (previously out of my price range) and bought one. Oddly, a couple years later I ended up with an 06 Civic as well, but just an EX coupe. Both were good cars, in their own way, but I own neither of them right now, as I'm in a period of trying to save money on bills.

    Thanks for the welcome, all.

I had no idea the Si's were that popular.

They were when they first came out for a year or so, till the hype died down. Dealers were selling them at above MSRP at first. The MS3 came along and stole some of that thunder I think, in '07.

Yes, they were, but I'm talking about the '06+ Si's.
