    i see whats wrong

the subaru has the ignition on the panel in the middle you dont got to use keys to start the car like the scion and also the knobs look different from both models but overall, if you dont pay attention you would even tell the difference

I am browsing on my iPhone and it is really difficult to discern the differences between the two.

Mad the scion is the one with white face gauges ad suby is black.

The Subie has cupholders and the Scion does not.... hope it's one of those removable cupholder things.

The subies is slightly better with the stitching on the e-brake and the leather sides. The white face gauges are gaudy.

I'm glad they decided to put a black roof liner on both versions. I hate how car makers think its alright to have the top half of the interior beige and the rest all black.

Keyless access/start is part of the uplevel model, along with heated leathers, spoiler, fogs and something else I can't remember right now. This is according to the vehicle description board beside the car, there will be two models offered initially: 'Limited' and 'Premium', IIRC. The Premium is the uplevel model with the niceties above.

So if the keyless start is an option for the BRZ, it's possible to be had as an accessory (factory installed, of course) for the FR-S.

who needs keyless start or heated leather? not me. Fogs and maybe a spoiler. A turbo model would be much better.

here in Canada heated seats are actually kinda nice. Even though i don't have them, whenever i get into a car that does.... feelsgoodman.jpg

push-button start should be standard by now, i understand there is no real reason for people to have it, but.. is nice.

having said that, i'm all for weight savings, and dont' care what kind of seats are in a car cuz they will be replaced by carbon fiber buckets anyway

I like the subaru seats, dash around the radio how its silver, e-brake stitching, and cabin air controls.

At first I was scion scion scion, lately the more the subaru is released, Ill take whoever has a cheaper turbo model. Then I can tinker with it to get more "fun" out of it

This. My jeans can warm my butt plus I like twisting my key to start the car. Unless it displays data ala R34 GTR, then that screen can take a hike too.

Different upholstery and stitching with a push button start are not enough to make me pay the possible Subaru premium. Same damn car, why pay more?

    x2. I also dont care for leather/navi/heated seats/etc...

If they sell it here with a radio delete option, I will be selecting that box.

It's not full leathers. It's combo of leather and alcantara, like BMW. Even the steering wheel has alcantara, not sure about shifter boot.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that they had this at the show. Notice the last picture in the blog? Had that on the model at the show, so it is in the TRD parts bin. Now the question is whether or not we can get it put in the FR-S, like the BRZ will have.

    Are the springs different.

I thought I heard somewhere that the two versions might be sprung differently, possibly giving the Scion a stiffer rear end. I do not remember where I heard that and wonder if anybody can confirm? That might be an important distinction if I plan on keeping it stock for a while.

Car and driver did a side by side. The major difference was the frs would overseer while the subaru would tend to understeer.

IMO the best combination. I have this in my Audi S4 and it's the right blend. The leather side bolsters allow you to slip in the seat, and the alcantara keeps you in place when you're sitting. It's difficult to keep clean though, from what I've heard. The one thing I want to kill both manufacturers for is the perforated leather wheel. I hate perforated leather!!! It feels like crap, even moreso when the leather ages.

I can not stand the clunky looking HVAC controls of the Scion. I'd rather spend $2-3k more to get the automatic climate (can't live without it now that I have it!) and engine start button (not having to fumble for keys every time I get in the car? Yes, please!). I can live without navigation but it's really nice to have. Heated seats are fantastic in the cold months, but I might move out to AZ so that wouldn't be needed ever again.

Meh to push button start. I like to push in the clutch and turn a key.
