HPI Racing remote controlled toy 2012 FR-S

For all those toy collectors and fan of R/C vehicles. HPI Racing along with Five Axis said they will be offering the Scion FR-S in Spring 2012. This is just a preview of their realistic remote controlled toy.

    HPI x SCION FR-S Reveal

HPI was a part of the SCION FR-S unveiling event at Milk Studios in Hollywood. The HPI display and demo area at the event location was next to the SONY Gran Turismo 5 demo, we were certainly in good company! HPI had demo and try me E-10, Sprint 2, TCX, TC-FD and SWITCH xB kits on hand. For many it was their first experience with high performance scale realistic RC vehicles and there were smiles all around. Attendees at the event were made up of invited members of the automotive press as well as prominent members of the automotive world. In attendance were also representatives of the main SCION/Toyota Clubs. Amongst the guests were Nick Fousekis and Jonathon Bradford of Falken Tire, they immediately noticed the replica custom Falken AE86 on display!

The main event of the evening started promptly at 8:00 pm. The voice of Formula Drift, Jarrod De Anda introduced Jack Hollis, VP of SCION, to the assembled crowds. Jack then described the concept and heritage of the FR-S. Highlighting the rich heritage of performance vehicles, many of which were on display on either side of him. He also highlighted SCION’s commitment to creating fun and enjoyment for the driver. After mentioning several upcoming milestones for the FR-S project he then went on to highlight the exciting partners that are involved with the project. The HPI specific line was “I love these cool HPI Racing R/C Cars. We already have xB and tC R/C cars…and we’re already working on the FR-S version.” At the conclusion of the speech, the lights were momentarily dimmed...followed by a bright flash signaling the arrival of the guest of honor...the 2013 SCION FR-S! The crowds cheered as the FR-S drove down the stage. The FR-S then came to a halt at the bottom of the stage, Jack once again took over the mic and properly introduced the car. During this presentation the HPI FR-S was also brough out for the crowds!

This was a great event for HPI and only the beginning of many to come that have resulted from our collaboration with SCION.

I cant find any info on HPI's website. Any info on what scale this will be? Are they selling a whole new kit or just a new body on an existing chassis like the spirit 2?

Sorry I have no idea. The toy is in the prototype stages now so I'm guessing that a new frame is currently being tested.
