We just got a tip from our friends at Brenda Priddy & Company!

We've spied test mules, seen the see-through mockup and even watched as Toyota's version debuted as a concept – and now our artist has provided us with a rendering of what he believe the Subaru version will look like when it finally arrives later this year.

Rumors run far and wide on this car, but there are a few tidbits that seem largely agreed upon. The rear-wheel drive Subaru will *likely have 2+2 seating, along with independent suspension all around.*As far as powertrains go, a turbocharged 2.0L boxer seems to be the order of the day, with a horsepower rating in the 260 range, although the recent skeleton mockup was shown with a non-turbo engine. Some even speculate an STI version with slightly over 300-horsepower!

Nice rendering. Only thing is that from the A-Pillar back it's identical to the FT. Also, this appears to be based ont eh first FT concept, which has different proportions. Basing it off of that concept would be inaccurate since the FT-II has proportions that are closer to production. I also don't think the front incorporates enough of the design language debuted on the Impreza Concept.

Just my thoughts.

As far as the first concept illustration, it's all FT86-I based, so I'm doubting it's pretty far off as Mel said

agreed 100%, though it is nice to see a Subaru offered in yellow haha for once in a long time, at least in IMO, could be a lil less bright though

For some reason the front grill and headlight combo doesn't look controversial enough for Subaru, as they have in their previous models. (Bug eyes, Pig snout, Angry bird etc..)
