    New Impreza Shows it's Face

Wow...I think it looks....terrible. I hated the current one when it came out and I didn't think they could make it look worse. Way to prove me wrong. Looks like a Kizashi, but not as cool.

It looks like they cut corners with material, dimension & craftmanship. What a shame for the Subaru brand name if this actually will become the final product.

Man. I do not know what to expect for the STI. We'll see. It'll probably be horrid at first and then grow on me (very slowly) like it always does.

    Hmmm....

This makes me wonder whether or not the Wrx and Sti's days are numbered.

I had the Evo's death in mind when I posted that. To be honest if the death of the STi wad announced I'd be unhappy but unsurprised.

The STI's future isn't a concern IMO. But the dumbing down and over-taming of the car is.

And to add, that looks like a pre-production car. Pre-production meaning only the smallest things will be changed. But what you see there is probably 98% the new Impreza.

I went to the Subaru USA website and laughed at the side profile. What happened to the fancy Impreza design concept?

How come just about every car company is epically failing on style, right now?

The only company that seems to be doing OK with redesigning cars and coming up with new cars that look OK is Ford.

I honestly think the Chevy Cruz looks 100 times better than the new impreza. Who knows though, it may look really sharp with a small wing and a hood scoop for the WRX.

Ugh I just looked at it again.

Is it just me or does it someone remind you of the current sentra in some tiny ways?

Supercars and exotics will always be sexy and always out of my price range. Sometimes, affordable cars are sexy, but that is rare (ie RX7 3rd gen, Supra 4th gen, RS2.5, E30 M3). Subarus went bland a few years ago. Toyota and Honda have been bland for a while and set the standard IMHO. All cars are starting to look the same. I suppose they use the same wind tunnels and have the same MGP goals. That and a fear of being overly 'styled'. Cars used to have lines thoughout, along and across them, both straight and curved. The only 'lines' on new imports is the outline it seems.

all the econo cars look the same. reminds me of the 80's when everything was square and similar.

Googles images are fine, you can direct link them. I re-hosted those cuz they were big as hell.

You are right though, they all look so plain. Bleh

maybe they'll go back to the hawk eyed ones soon?

i'm not worried, as I think the next car I'll own will be either an IS300, FR-S, or an older STI. Depends on the price.

toyofan...Mitsu won't, don't worry. I'm waitin' for the new world order Lancer GTS from them in 2013. Possibly a Lancer Hybrid. They won't mutate it!
