    Surprise...surprise...

Anyhow, price is steep but it's most likely AWD and turbo'd. Will have to see final design and specs. If it turns out to be way hotter than previous STI's..Subaru got some help (or influence) in design, since their designs aren't all that cool. But, none the less good news for Subie fans.

Stop stop stop before rumors get spread. You can't do ¥ to $ conversions for cars. A 2,500,000 ¥ car in Japan could easily be $23k in the USA.

Admittedly I used xe.com to convert the prices as Im no expert in foreign exchange. However, how do you figure it would come to about $23k?

I cant imagine the car costing $35k since thats the current MSRP of the STi 4 Door. Id lose interest if that were the case, turbo/awd/whatever, Ill purchase the Toyota/Scion FT-86. Im not about to spend $580+ over five years for such a car. No, id buy an used GT-R or pay off my mortgage at that point.

Id love to hear your reasonings though since I feel you are correct.

On a side note, if we were to see the Subaru 216a FT-86 varient @ $30k+ itd be a MUCH different car than what we are seeing from the FT-86 concept. Sub $20k or $30k I have a feeling the car will still carry the STi badge and Im ok with that, so long as the cars are still somewhat the same. My dream is to have interchangeable parts to some degree.

What he means is that cars are not the same price everywhere. Cars in USA are really cheap comparing to Japan or Europe. So when you do the ¥ to $ conversion, you're not right. You have to consider that thing. Although, 23k $ seems a little cheap. I'd say 25-30k $ for the USA. But i'm not an expert though.

Example, a Nissan 370Z in Japan is base 3,731,794 ¥/ $46,003 (USD). But in the US starts $27,980 (USD). This car will be less that 23k usd, watch.

^That is a good point. $35K is too much since it is almost the price of the STi. For a lowered power smaller 2 door coupe mmmmm $28K-31K 32K for premium version is what I feel.

Taxes on vehicles in Europe is HUGE - thats one of the largest differentiators.
