So you weight about 150 lb? Such light weight...

Not sure what you are saying? I have dropped about 200 lbs off the car. It's a 2 seater, so pulling interior doesn't do much. Race seats might drop 20 lbs, but that's it since it's a clothe interior. It might weigh less than 2650 lbs. I, myself weight about 170 lbs, but I can't drop too much weight as I'm 5'9. Maybe race it with just a pair of boxers? LOL

Snoopy did the car have 215's all around? I would think this car would be better with 215 fronts and 225 rears to make it more neutral.

10:26 is terrible. How did they go so slow?

    Nordschleife lap records - FastestLaps.com

Was there a track change or something?

I said the same thing... Man this car is slow!
    I might be having 2nd thoughts after this..seriously !

BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT...maybe they wanted to show a good face and finish, since not finishing would be a major blow to a concept car....

I REALLY love what they did with the rear in the area under the bumper and the way they blacked out the protruding tail lights. I hate the spoiler, way too big. The front end has lost its unique "hooded cobra" look. They apparently elongated it, which is apparent from the profile view. They need to go back to the shorter FE. Without the "hooded cobra" look, which is created by moving the flared fenders forward and bringing the pointed nose rearward, it is beginning to look exactly like an MR2. Not that I don't like MR2s, I owned one. But toyota/scion really had a unique front end look that had followed the car since its inception. The gazoo version took that unique front end away. The original Gazoo did the same thing to the mk1 red concept. I did not like that aspect of the white Gazoo concept. Hopefully this is a aerodynamics, or "racing radiator needed more room" thing and won't see production. The short overhangs of the all the previous car (back and front) were what really appealed to me. I think the wheels are nice, but would like to see larger, lower profile tires. Seeing what Gazoo did tells me that torque would probably decrease significantly if I were to do that to mine. I also would have liked to see blacked out headlights, as opposed to chrome. Overall, I liked the changes to the rear - good job! I couldn't tell if the roof still has the creases in it, but I hope so, and I don't like what they did to the front end by elongating it. They need to make it short again and stop messing with what has been there since the concept years ago. I'm excited that the car got 3rd against an S2000 and a civic type R. Really impressive. If this is what it does with just weight loss alone, it's going to be a fun car to drive, I'm sure.

I think 10:26 means something went wrong... or maybe they were testing a certain aspect of the car, though idk why they would do that in this race... just guessin

Or, since it was an endurance, they had to pit and had to have endurance type pads and tires. Just might have been a long running setup. Still, 3 hours or racing isn't that much endurance. I took a road trip in the mr2 for 5 hours. Was boosting a lot, but have a trunk mounted IC (12x24x3.5) and only 250 whp. I think I got 20 mpg (it's premium too) on that trip of all highway! LOL

Only things that seem good are that the s2000's best lap was only 15 seconds faster in a 10 mile track (not sure on exact distance, but it's not short). Look at the records and you'll notice cars that would finish on some races within a second or two tops are over 10 seconds difference. Knowing most tracks are about 1/9 the length, that would put the fr-s about 1-2 seconds back or so at leguna seca or willow.

I am noticed red line starts a 7500 on the tach. Hmmm wonder if that is production or just a prop.

I would say that is production. That's a big part of making 200 hp on a 2.0 liter engine. Think, the s2000 went to 9k as a 2.0 and the k20 went to 8600 to make 200 hp. This thing could easily make as much or more power than the f22c s2000 engine with a higher redline.

The track for the VLN race includes both the Nordshleife ring and the GP circuit. The GP circuit adds more than 2 miles to the track. I haven't seen any data on how fast it would have done the Nordshleife ring on it's own. But it doesn't really matter because this is a modified car on racing slicks.

Aston Martin CEO Dr Bez racing at Nürburgring with Toyota President - YouTube

Watch this YouTube video of Toyota's Mr.Toyoda and Aston Martin's CEO Dr.Bez race here. A feel-good story that explains in more detail Akio's love for racing. Oh, he does crash the Aston Martin. They drive each other's cars! Watch as Akio spins around and then does a great job of spinning out of it and recovering. They patch it back up but the damage was already pretty much done.

It looks like that EVO hits him and spins him out. That track is very difficult to pass on. I'll bet that the EVO only saw that porsche that Toyoda was following through, and thought he was clear to go back in the racing line. However it happened that was an expensive "whoopsie".
