Unconfirmed Dealer Released Subaru BRZ Specs

I was browsing the net looking for more BRZ info when I ran across this from another forum.

So my bro went shopping for a Subaru Forester(nice car I might add) and I took advantage of the time to ask about the BRZ. Here's the convo:

Me: Heard of the BRZ?
Dealer: Yea, I saw it at Chicago, they had a full bodied model.

Me: How'd it look?
Dealer: It looked nice, almost like a Z car.

Me: Any engine specs?
Dealer: Not yet, but probably around 200hp from a 2 liter

Me: Turbo?
Dealer: They're keeping it NA.

Me: Base price?
Dealer: They're trying to keep it around $25,000

Me: Weight figures?
Dealer: Under 3000 lbs

Me: When is it going to hit dealers?
Dealer: Its expected to be around spring, so March, April? Not sure.

Now as we know this contradicts what one of our own members said when they spoke to a dealer rep. What do you all make of it?

From the speculation I've seen on the internet all of those figures (except the hp) are a little high. 25k does really put them in with some competition they're going to have trouble measuring up against. v-6 mustang/camaro, Genesis coupe, base 370z.

Where I live peoples first concern is "How much power she got?" (Read in a thick American mid-western accent). The real "car people" might ask about the weight. But not a soul is going to ask about the center of gravity. Which is a real shame. I really think this car could have a hard time selling.

That's why I propose that we should be the "Heralds of the BRZ." The plan is simple.

Step 1:
Buy a BRZ

Step 2:
Take people for rides

Step 3:
Scare the crap out of them by taking corners faster than they thought possible.

Step 4:
Convince them to buy one thereby ensuring a nice supply of donor vehicles for the future.

Sorry my friend. I work in the same office complex with Subaru Midwest office. I park in the same parking lot with their manager here. There was never a "Full Bodied" or fat ass BRZ in chicago area period.

In Japan they had 2+2 rx7's, I assume they dont have them here because only Japanese people can fit in the back seat lol

No doubt, but if Toyota had a ball buster ready to roll, wouldn't they advertise the specs? I don't get it? Why hold out this long? You would be better off letting the public know what specs can be bought as soon as possible.

Nope, just like Apple doesn't release it's specs until they are ready. It builds anticipation.

Yeah among other jdm cars (st205 celica, gf8 wrx, gc8 STi , sw20 mr2)

One of the FD 's is no longer drivable because I put it into a concrete barrier during a time attack.
